All of us, at one point in our lives, were “newcomers.” Whether you are new to this country, new to Texas, new to Methodism, or new to Christianity, when you visit us, we make it a point that you are greeted and welcomed by a friendly face with a warm smile. We will guide and help you find a comfortable spot in our sanctuary to enjoy our worship service. We have various activities and fellowship opportunities after the service that give us all a chance to make you feel at home.

What are the people like at Faith UMC?
Faith UMC is one of the most diverse congregations you will find. Although we are a collection of individuals from various ethnic backgrounds, we gather to worship as one people, knowing that God’s Spirit stirs life among us in unique and different ways.
The people of Faith UMC share the same passion for welcoming people. We share the same belief in the love of God, the value of family, and our duty as disciples of Christ.
What is the style of worship at Faith UMC?
The worship service at Faith UMC is “blended” — meaning we appreciate and employ both traditional hymns and newer and contemporary praise music.
What should I wear when I visit?
We do not have any dress code, restrictions or expectations here. Throughout the congregation, you’ll see some dressed in suits and many in much more casual wear. We welcome everyone regardless of what they look like, or where they come from or how they choose to dress.
What is Sunday like at Faith UMC?
Sunday starts with our 10:30am worship. It kicks off with the traditional procession of the acolyte, chancel choir and the Pastor. We begin with praise and worship. The music is modern and upbeat with guitars and drums led by that Sunday’s worship team.
Our Chancel Choir offers hymns of our faith and choral music accompanied by a grand piano. This part of Service includes acts of praise, confession, thanksgiving, proclamation, creeds of the Church, and dedication. Sermons are biblically based and seek to emphasize spiritual growth and Christian service.
After the Service, around 11:45am, we share brunch with each other. Our guests are invited to be served first. It is like a family-reunion of sorts, where everyone visits with one another in fellowship.
We then hold Sunday School Bible studies at 12:15pm for different age groups, going from toddlers to seniors and people in between. We even have a Filipino-language class!
What does Faith UMC offer for my Children and Youth?
Children and Youth are welcome during our Worship Services. Every second and fourth Sunday of the month, we have a special children’s sermon that takes the pastor’s sermon and presents it at a level that meets a child’s understanding. We also have Youth Sundays when our teenage congregants lead the Service as ushers and greeters, liturgist and music performers. We offer child care, Sunday school for different grade levels and other activities for kids and youth throughout the year.
